Cooey manufactured the model 64 first with a plastic, rear release, magazine. They then transitioned and some 64A models had old style parts and some had the newer style 64B parts (i.e., metal, front release, magazine). Cooey also supplied other companies (Sears for example) and used generic trade names like Hiawatha, Ranger and Canuck.
To help confirm if your firearm takes the old style firing pin, the breech bolt has to have a screw retained extractor, typically models 64 and 64A.
To help confirm if your firearm takes the new style firing pin, the breech bolt has to have a pinned in style extractor, typically models 64A and 64B.
Note: All parts can require final qualified or gunsmith fitting.
